Posted this on TiU but just so it's seen, reproduced here:
Just had this message in from a Chester Fan on Deva Chat.
"Believe me when i say this though, the game will be in serious doubt to go ahead if they dont.
We have no players,or those that are left havent been paid in months.
we are trying to big up the game a bit to get it called off, it would really help matters if your official supporters group were to release a statement saying they are expecting at least 1000 to travel up. That would help us put the game off.
Ultimately this would then force the conf to kick us out, albeit with egg on their faces."
Obviously, it's all irrelevent if the vote goes in favour of kicking them out.
But, if it doesn't and the game goes ahead - it appears clear to me they will still not fulfil ALL their fixtures so it would only be matter of time until they were kicked out and thus a waste of our time playing them.
Plus there is also the prospect of us turning up in numbers and the police/council deciding only tomorrow morning to call the game off because of it.
Therefore I wondered if it might actually be sensible for OxVox issue a statement visible to Chester Police that we are likely to travel in numbers and if they aren't going to be able to cope or police the event then they should call it off today before we waste a journey?
I may be wrong in this thinking but I promised the guy i'd pass this on, so I have done. |

We received a number of emails today from Chester fans along the same lines and from other parties during the week. I believe, the club also received messages, as reported on other Non League Forums and Deva Chat itself.
Chester fans seem to have got what they wanted today. A sad day for football. |
